Sickness fund

The reality often surprises us in a bad way. It happens that we are affected by illness, injury or an accident. These can effectively reduce or eliminate our ability to work. Kópur labor unions reach out to those in need in every situation. That is why a sickness fund for our members was created.

The Kópur union sickness fund provides sickness benefit upon expiry of the salary in the event of a Kópur union member’s incapacity for work due to illness or accident. All members of the unions for whom the first contribution from the employer has been booked are entitled to the sickness fund. This means that after the first month, you can use subsidies to the gym or swimming pool, and you acquire the right to sickness benefits. The conditions for paying this allowance are as follows:

– After 1 month of paid membership, the allowance is 15% of full payment, and the length of sickness is 1 month

– After 2 months of paid membership, the allowance is 30% of full payment, and the length of sickness is 2 months

– After 3 months of paid membership, the allowance is 45% of the full payment, and the length of sickness is 3 months

– After 4 months of paid membership, the allowance is 60% of full payment, and the length of sickness is 4 months

– After 5 months of paid membership, the allowance is 75% of full payment, and the length of sickness is 5 months

– After 6 months of paid membership, the allowance is 100% of full payment, and the length of sickness is 6 months

– After 7 months of paid membership, the allowance is 100% of the full payment, and the length of sickness is 7 months

Most trade unions available on the market offer payment of sickness benefits for a period of 5 – 6 months, therefore Kópur, meeting the expectations of its unionists, offers 7 months of sickness benefits.

After the sickness benefit period is over, our unions will continue to guide the member so that he or she goes through the entire rehabilitation process with the right to a rehabilitation pension. In the event that rehabilitation does not help you regain full working capacity, our unions will help you get the right to a sickness installment.

In addition, the Kópur labor union sickness fund offers a number of subsidies and benefits, including:

– Allowances for serious illness of the spouse
– Death Allowance
– Child death allowance
– Co-financing of active rest (gym, swimming pool, etc.)
– Co-financing for glasses and contact lenses
– Co-financing of psychological therapy
– Co-financing of screening tests in the case of the cancer diagnosis process
